Rita founded One 2 One Educational Support in 2006 after a second career as a middle school teacher and owner of a child development center. Starting at the Norcross Human Services Center (NHSC), Rita developed a teaching methodology that demonstrated reasoning targeting critical math concepts, order, and reasoning. This method proved to be beneficial to at-risk students, raising academic achievement and math proficiency.
Rita Williams, for many years was a community partner through her private sector employer, which followed the ownership of a child development center.
At NHSC she tutored K-8 students. The same year, she was asked to host a summer camp, so S.T.E.M.ulate was crafted, a camp teaching math, science, reading and presentation skills. In the third operational year, she sponsored the Summer Food Program and other programs in metro Atlanta and in many outlying areas. In 2014, One 2 One became an administrative sponsor of the Child and Adult Food Program for at-risk after school programs, adult and child care facilities.
One 2 One continues to increase learning development, mentoring and life-skills programs for middle and high school students. Additionally, the organization provides adult instruction for computer applications, personal finance and how to advocate for their child’s learning.
Rita Williams holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a Masters degree in Education. Rita and her husband Tony are the proud parents of two daughters and reside in Johns Creek, GA.
